CYS brings European expertise to Cyprus to discuss the Cyber Resilience Act and the standards shaping digital product security.

The Cyprus Organisation for Standardisation (CYS), with the support of the Digital Security Authority (DSA), is hosting the event “Building CRA Compliance through Horizontal Cybersecurity Standards”, taking place on 21 September 2026 in Nicosia, bringing European experts and key stakeholders together to discuss the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and the standards supporting its implementation.

The Cyber Resilience Act introduces new cybersecurity requirements for products with digital elements, affecting a wide range of products and technologies, from connected devices and software to smart products and digital technologies. Businesses will increasingly need to integrate cybersecurity throughout the product lifecycle, from design and development to placing products on the European market.

European standards will play a key role in helping businesses translate the requirements of the CRA into practical technical and organisational measures.

A central focus of the event will be the work of CEN-CLC/JTC 13/WG 9, the joint CEN-CENELEC working group developing horizontal cybersecurity standards to support the implementation of the CRA.

The event will also provide an opportunity for participants to connect with European experts and other stakeholders, exchange views and gain a clearer understanding of the standards supporting CRA compliance.

Through this event, CYS is bringing European expertise and the latest developments in cybersecurity standardisation closer to the Cypriot business and technology community, helping stakeholders better understand the changes ahead and prepare for the new cybersecurity landscape.
