Diving Gas cylinders - Seamless steel and seamless aluminium- alloy gas cylinders and tubes - Periodic inspection and testing (ISO 18119:2018)

Inspection and Testing through ISO 18119:2018 is focused and  applicable  to seamless steel and seamless aluminium-alloy transportable gas cylinders. The training will provide information and procedures for the periodic inspection and testing of seamless steel and seamless aluminium-alloy cylinders and the condition of the test equipment. The ‘theoretical workshop’ will provide the proper training and procedures, in accordance with EN ISO 18119, to ensure that at the completion of the cylinder inspection and test, the cylinders have been re-qualified and are suitable to be reintroduced into service for a further period of time.

Instructor:

Mr Chris Demetriou has an extensive background in the setting up of cylinder testing workshops, gas blending installations and hyperbaric chamber commissioning and de-commissioning. He has been cylinder testing and servicing all types of scuba diving equipment for more than 20 years.
As a TDI technical diving instructor trainer, he has specialised in deep Trimix diving on open circuit and CCR using helium based mixes to depths of more than 200mtrs, which involved risk assessments for lead divers, support divers and surface logistics.Working with DAN Europe and as a Diving Safety Officer, he has inspected hyperbaric facilities in Poland and dive centres in Belgium and Holland to ensure they are compliant with DAN HIRA policies. He has inspected cylinder testing facilities in the UK and Dubai to ensure that the workshop practices are in line with IDEST (accredited to ISO/IEC 17024) requirements and the inspection of cylinders and valves follow EN ISO 18119 standards.
