Household Goods & Home Appliances

The Household Goods & Home Appliances sector is an area in which the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) has been very active, because this sector is directly related to consumers and consumer products.

The concern for consumer safety has resulted in the swift development of standardization in this area, both at the level of the European technical committees and at the level of harmonized standards.

The standards are developed in collaboration with ANEC (European Association for the Coordination of Consumer Representation), whose representatives also participate in some of the European technical committees. In addition, there is cooperation with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which according to its policies and within the framework cooperates also with the International Consumers Association.
