The Cyprus Organization for Standardization (CYS) organizes an open participation webinar, on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. on “ISO 32210 – The first ISO Standard on Sustainable Finance assists ESG considerations”.
Sustainable practices are no longer a nice-to-have ideology, but a must-have policy driven by the demand of a wide array of stakeholders.
After three years in developing, the first sustainability standard for the finance sector is ready to be published in 2022 and is currently out for consultation as a draft international standard (DIS). This new ISO standard allows firms in the finance industry to integrate sustainability considerations including environmental, social and governance practices (ESG) in the financing of economic activities.
The “ISO 32210 Sustainable Finance” standard sets out principles and practices to support financial organizations to enable positive environmental and social outcomes, risk mitigation and deliver sustainable value.
The webinar will be inaugurated and will be addressed by his Excellency the Minister of Finance, Mr. Konstantinos Petrides. The webinar will also be addressed by the General Manager of CYS Mrs. Athina Panayiotou. The seminar will host internationally acclaimed keynote speakers in the field of sustainable finance who have been actively involved in the development of the “ISO 32210 Sustainable Finance” standard.
