The Cyprus Organization for Standardization (CYS) organizes an open participation informative seminar on the 16th of November, 2022 at 09:00am via ZOOM, titled: «The Role of International Standards in Artificial Intelligence». 

The seminar is under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy and will be addressed by Mr. Kostas Agrotis, Chairman of the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS), and Mrs. Athina Panayiotou, Director General of Cyprus Organization for Standardization (CYS).

The informative seminar is open to all, with free entrance , and aims to inform all interested parties and relevant stakeholders on the role of standards in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

The keynote speaker of the seminar is Mr. Peter Deussen, who is one of the Technical Experts of ISO/IEC JTC 42 ‘’Artificial Intelligence’’. Mr. Deussen represents Microsoft in the German (DIN) standardization committees for Artificial Intelligence.  He is a major contributor of various International Standards on topics such as Risk Management on Artificial Intelligence and the Impact Assessment on Organization using AI Technology. Mr Duessen will present the Role and major standardization achievements of the International Standardization Committee ISO/IEC JTC 1 SC 42 ‘’Artificial Intelligence.  In addition he will analyse important subjects related to AI Technology based on:

  • Artificial Intelligence Management System
  • Artificial Intelligence Guidance on Risk Management  
  • Artificial Intelligence System Impact Assessment for Organizations

During the Seminar , Mr Konstantinos Tsourtos ‘’Head of Delegation of CYS’’ at European Standardization Committee CEN/CLC JTC 21 ‘’Αrtificial Intelligence  will present the proposed European AI regulation and the European and International Standardization activities in AI.
