The Cyprus Organization for Standardisation (CYS) participated in the Cyprus Defense & Security Conference (CYPSEC 2024), held on 12 November 2024 in Nicosia. Representing CYS, Mr. Joseph Karis, ICT Standardization Officer, presented the topic “Standardisation in Support of Civil and Defense Synergies”. The presentation focused on the importance of standards in promoting cooperation and mutual support between the civilian and defense sectors, a topical issue in today's evolving defense and security landscape.
The conference was also attended by the Standards Director Mr. Pampos Kammas and the Standardisation Officer Mr. Michalis Zantis, who had the opportunity to discuss with other delegates and exhibitors as well as with National Guard officers and other stakeholders, for the improvement and promotion of the framework of CYS – CyMoD – Industry cooperation and the utilization of European and international standards.
