CEN and CENELEC Annual Reports 2021!
In 2021, CEN and CENELEC were faced again with unprecedented challenges in a quickly evolving global situation, from managing a sustainable and inclusive recovery to coping with a degrading security environment at the borders of Europe. At the same time, standardization was recognised as an important strategic ally in drawing our common European path. In dealing with all these aspects, we confirmed our resilience and robustness.
Some highlights that testify the hard work and commitment of the CEN and CENELEC community include:
- the support European Standards provide to the EU policy priorities in the framework of the twin digital and green transition;
- the start of the implementation of the joint Strategy 2030;
- the work done to support the preparation of the new European Standardization Strategy;
- CEN and CENELEC’s efforts to improve our system and make it fit for the future, such as the definition of new membership criteria.
These successes, and many others, are a good example of the strength of the European Standardization System, which allows CEN and CENELEC to look with optimism to the future.
