The Cyprus Organisation for Standardisation (CYS)<\/a>, as the National Standards Body of Cyprus, participated in the international programme titled \u201cSeminar on Standardization Cooperation in Artificial Intelligence for BRI Partner Countries\u201d, held from 3 to 16 July 2026 in Chengdu and Shenzhen, China.<\/p>\n

The programme was supported by the Embassy of the People\u2019s Republic of China in Cyprus and represents an important opportunity for CYS to further enhance international cooperation and knowledge exchange in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) standardisation.<\/p>\n

Organised by the Chengdu Institute of Standardization (CDIS), under the supervision of the competent Chinese authorities responsible for standardisation and trade, the programme brought together representatives from relevant organisations and experts from various countries. Its objective was to facilitate the exchange of experiences, knowledge and best practices regarding the development and implementation of standards for Artificial Intelligence.<\/p>\n

The discussions and presentations focused on key topics related to AI standardisation, including the development of AI standard frameworks and systems, data security management, algorithm governance, reliability aspects, responsible use of technology, as well as the importance of alignment with international standards and best practices developed by the International Standards Organisations ISO, IEC and ITU.<\/p>\n

CYS\u2019s active participation in international knowledge-sharing initiatives contributes to monitoring global developments in Artificial Intelligence and reinforces the role of standardisation as an essential tool for supporting innovation, digital transformation, and the development of trustworthy and secure technological solutions.<\/p>\n

CYS\u2019s participation forms part of a series of international knowledge and experience exchange initiatives in the field of standardisation, representing the third such initiative in which the Organisation has participated. Through these activities, CYS continues to strengthen its access to international expertise, monitor emerging developments, and facilitate the transfer of knowledge within the Organisation. Previous initiatives focused on areas such as New Energy Vehicle Standardisation and Shipbuilding Standardisation, demonstrating CYS\u2019s commitment to developing expertise in strategic sectors of technological and industrial importance.<\/p>\n

CYS expresses its sincere appreciation to the Embassy of the People\u2019s Republic of China in Cyprus for its support and for facilitating participation in this important international knowledge exchange initiative.<\/p>\n
