Within the framework of the full implementation of European Standards in the field of building materials, the National Technical Committee for natural stone was set up in April 2005 which have been assessed the European standard CYS EN 12440:2001. The committee prepared a list of Cyprus natural stones products and through continuous representation of Cyprus at the meetings of the corresponding European Technical Committee CEN TC 246, achieved the inclusion of the list to the European standard CYS EN 12440. The standard is expected to be published shortly by CEN European Organisation for Standardisation.
