Scope of Work

As a member of the committee, you have the opportunity to influence national, European, and international standardisation deliverables in the fields of low-voltage and high-voltage switchgear, controlgear, and their assemblies. The committee supports standardisation efforts aimed at improving the safety, performance, and interoperability of switching and control devices used in power distribution and automation systems.

The scope includes the development of standards and other standardisation deliverables for the design, construction, testing, and functional requirements of switchgear and controlgear for both low- and high-voltage applications. It also includes assemblies of such equipment, ensuring compliance with electrical, mechanical, and environmental requirements for reliable and safe operation in a wide range of settings.

As a committee member, you will have the opportunity to participate in international and/or European work. CYS MC 4.12 monitors and contributes to the work of the following European and international technical committees:

  • CLC/SR 121 Switchgear and controlgear and their assemblies for low voltage
  • CLC/SR 121B Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies
  • CLC/TC 121A Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear
  • CLC/TC 17AC High-voltage switchgear and controlgear

International Technical Committees

  • IEC/TC 121 Switchgear and controlgear and their assemblies for low voltage
  • IEC/TC 121A Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear
  • IEC/TC 121B Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies
