Scope of Work

As a member of the committee, you have the opportunity to influence national, European, and international standardisation deliverables in the fields of the Oil and Gas sector, including developments supporting lower carbon energy solutions.

The scope includes the development of standards and other standardisation deliverables for the exploration, production, processing, transportation, and storage of oil and gas, including technologies and infrastructures that facilitate a transition to a more sustainable energy system. It also includes pipeline transportation systems, drilling and production equipment, casing, tubing, and drill pipe components, as well as the infrastructure for natural gas, LNG, and hydrogen.

As a committee member, you will have the opportunity to participate in international and/or European work. CYS MC 5.02 monitors and contributes to the work of the following European and international technical committees:

European Technical Committees

  • CEN/TC 12 Oil and gas industries including lower carbon energy
  • CEN/TC 234 Gas infrastructure
  • CEN/TC 235 Gas pressure regulators and associated safety devices for use in gas transmission and distribution
  • CEN/TC 282 Installation and equipment for LNG
  • CEN/CLC/JTC 6 Hydrogen in energy systems

International Technical Committees

  • ISO/TC 67 Oil and gas industries including lower carbon energy
  • ISO/TC 67/SC 2 Pipeline transportation systems
  • ISO/TC 67/SC 4 Drilling and production equipment
  • ISO/TC 67/SC 5 Casing, tubing and drill pipe
