Scope of Work
As a member of the committee, you have the opportunity to influence national, European, and international standardisation deliverables in the fields of sustainable agriculture, horticulture, and bio-based sectors. Their focus includes soil improvers, fertilizers, irrigation, greenhouses, plant biostimulants, algae products, and circular systems. These standards support quality, safety, and environmental performance across the agri-food and bioeconomy value chains.
The scope includes the development of standards and other standardisation deliverables that define terminology, sampling procedures, analytical and performance testing methods, product definitions and labelling requirements. They cover materials and products used in soil amendment, fertilisation, greenhouse cultivation, irrigation, bio‑based and algae‑derived products, plant biostimulants, and the circular design and recyclability of fishing and aquaculture gear. Their aim is to harmonise quality, safety, environmental and performance criteria across the EU single market, in line with legislative frameworks such as the EU Fertilising Products Regulation (2019/1009) or plastics and waste‑reduction directives.
As a committee member, you will have the opportunity to participate in international and/or European work. CYS MC 1.01 monitors and contributes to the work of the following European and international technical committees:
