Scope of Work

As a member of the committee, you have the opportunity to influence national, European, and international standardisation deliverables related to doors, windows, shutters, building hardware, and curtain walls, as well as glass in buildings. Furthermore, the committee addresses standardisation activities for execution of steel structures and aluminum structures.

The scope includes the development of standards and other standardisation deliverables for performance levels and classification associated with the functions of doors, windows, shutters, building hardware and curtain walls, which characterize the usage including the ability to meet the essential requirements (of the Construction Products Regulation), tests requirements and, if necessary, the essential dimensions, terminology, symbols, packaging, marking and labelling. Moreover, it covers the standardization in the field of glass used in buildings and standardisation of rules for execution of steel and aluminum structures for building and civil engineering works including rules for inspection and control.

As a committee member, you will have the opportunity to participate in international and/or European work. CYS MC 3.01 monitors and contributes to the work of the following European technical committees:

European Technical Committees

  • CEN/TC 33 – Doors, windows, shutters and building hardware
  • CEN/TC 129 – Glass in building
  • CEN/TC 135 – Execution of steel structures and aluminum structures
