Scope of Work
As a member of the committee, you have the opportunity to influence national, European, and international standardisation deliverables in the fields of structural and geotechnical design rules for building and civil engineering works.
The scope includes the development of the EN Structural Eurocodes, which provide rules for the basis of design, actions on structures, geotechnical design, and structural design for all major construction materials. These materials include concrete, steel, composite steel and concrete, timber, masonry, and aluminium.
The second generation of Eurocodes will expand this scope to include emerging materials and systems such as structural glass, fibre-reinforced polymer composites, and tensioned membrane structures. As a result, the Eurocodes will cover the design of the majority of building and civil engineering structures, including provisions for geotechnical design and earthquake resistance.
As a committee member, you will have the opportunity to participate in international and/or European work. CYS MC 3.13 monitors and contributes to the work of the following European and international technical committees:

- CEN/TC 250 – Structural Eurocodes
