Scope of Work
As a member of the committee, you have the opportunity to influence national, European, and international standardisation deliverables in the fields of electrical and communication cables, winding wires, optical fibre technologies, and cable management systems. The committee covers a broad range of applications, including cables for power transmission, data communication, marine and offshore environments, as well as specialised solutions such as coaxial, multicore, and fibre optic cables.
The scope includes the development of standards and other standardisation deliverables for the design, testing, installation, and performance of electric and communication cables, winding wires, and optical fibres. It also includes standardisation of cable systems for ships and offshore units, data transmission infrastructure, and cable support and management systems, ensuring reliability, safety, and interoperability across various industrial and infrastructure sectors.
As a committee member, you will have the opportunity to participate in international and/or European work. CYS MC 4.08 monitors and contributes to the work of the following European and international technical committees:
