Scope of Work

As a member of the committee, you have the opportunity to influence national, European, and international standardisation deliverables in the fields of gas appliances, equipment, and accessories. The committee covers a broad range of technical areas concerning the safety, performance, and efficiency of appliances using gaseous fuels for domestic, commercial, and industrial use.

The scope includes the development of standards and other standardisation deliverables for the gas-fired water heaters, cooking appliances, space heaters, central heating boilers, and large kitchen appliances. It also addresses transportable gas cylinders, gas meters, valves, safety and control devices, and appliances for outdoor and leisure use. Furthermore, the committee is involved in the development of testing methodologies, classification of appliances, and the specification of test gases and pressures, ensuring alignment with evolving technologies and energy transition targets.

As a committee member, you will have the opportunity to participate in international and/or European work. CYS MC 5.01 monitors and contributes to the work of the following European and international technical committees:
