Scope of Work

As a member of the committee, you have the opportunity to influence national, European, and international standardisation deliverables in the fields of water supply, wastewater engineering, water analysis, hydrometry, and domestic water treatment appliances, ensuring quality and safety in water management systems. They also deliver international standards for service activities related to drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. These standards support reliable, efficient, and sustainable water infrastructure and services across Europe and beyond.

The scope includes the development of standards and other standardisation deliverables for the design, operation, and maintenance of water supply and wastewater systems, including methods for water quality analysis and hydrometric measurements. They address the safety, performance, and environmental impact of domestic water treatment appliances not connected to water supply systems. ISO/TC 224 focuses on service activities for drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater management, promoting harmonization of practices and improving water services reliability. Their standards contribute to sustainable water resource management, public health protection, and environmental safeguarding across urban and rural settings.

As a committee member, you will have the opportunity to participate in international and/or European work. CYS MC 6.02 monitors and contributes to the work of the following European and international technical committees:

  • CEN/TC 165 Wastewater engineering
  • CEN/TC 230 Water analysis
  • CEN/TC 318 Hydrometry
  • CEN/TC 426 Domestic appliances used for water treatment not connected to water supply

  • ISO/TC 224 Service activities relating to drinking water supply, wastewater and stormwater systems
