Scope of Work

As a member of the committee, you have the opportunity to influence national, European, and international standardisation deliverables in the fields of electrical equipment used in medical practice and active implantable medical devices. The committee supports the development of safety, performance, and compatibility standards for medical electrical equipment, ensuring its effective and safe integration in clinical environments.

The scope includes the development of standards and other standardisation deliverables for the design, testing, operation, and maintenance of medical electrical devices and systems. This includes requirements for electromagnetic compatibility, essential performance, usability, and risk management, with a particular focus on patient safety and clinical effectiveness for both external and implantable medical technologies.
